Find-A-Tox Practice Description : The Grady Occupational and Environmental Toxicology Clinic provides specialized evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients with suspected or confirmed toxic exposures related to the workplace, home, or broader environment. As part of the Grady Health System and closely aligned with the expertise of the Georgia Poison Center and Emory University’s Division of Medical Toxicology, the clinic offers comprehensive consultation for acute and chronic toxicologic conditions affecting adults and, when appropriate, specialized populations.

Clinical services include assessment of occupational chemical exposures, radiation exposures, heavy metal toxicity (such as lead, mercury, and arsenic), pesticide-related illness, solvent and industrial exposure syndromes, environmental contaminant concerns, inhalational injuries, toxic occupational dermatologic conditions, and selected occupational envenomations or hazardous materials exposures. The clinic also evaluates unexplained symptoms where toxic exposure may be contributory and provides exposure risk assessment, diagnostic testing recommendations, treatment planning, and follow-up care.

In addition to direct patient care, the clinic serves as an educational and referral resource for physicians, employers, public health agencies, and other stakeholders requiring expert toxicology consultation. Its multidisciplinary approach integrates clinical toxicology, occupational medicine principles, emergency preparedness, and public health expertise to improve patient outcomes and promote safer environments. The clinic reflects Grady’s commitment to delivering advanced, accessible specialty care for complex toxicologic and environmental health concerns.
