Clerkship Program Description : The Oregon Poison Center Medical Toxicology Clerkship provides hands on experience in bedside toxicology consultation, poison center operations, and management of poisoned patients. Learners participate in daily case discussions, toxicology teaching sessions, and interdisciplinary patient care while building a foundation in the recognition and treatment of toxicologic exposures. The rotation offers exposure to a broad spectrum of toxicology, ranging from rattlesnakes, mushrooms, and paralytic shellfish poisoning to emerging substances such as kratom and nitrous oxide, highlighting the unique environmental and public health challenges of the Pacific Northwest. Rotations are offered in 2 or 4 week blocks, with in-person and virtual options available (international learners are virtual only).
